Responsibilities include: • Checking if data quality meets or exceeds defined criteria. • Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data. • Developing and implementing epidemiologic investigations. • Overseeing data and preparing data quality reports. Welcome back to our Passport Through Texas series! Our fourth stop brings us to Public Health Region (PHR) 11 in South Texas. A region rich in history and traditions, South Texas is known for its warm weather, tropical beaches, birding sites, and a large number of palm trees 🌴 The South Texas region hosts Operation Border Health Preparedness (OBHP). OBHP is a weeklong exercise that helps South Texans prepare for disasters. At OBHP, DSHS and local partners offer free medical, dental, and vision services. Last year, OBHP provided over 27,000 services. OBHP also saw 6,000 patients in five locations across the South Texas region. This year marked the 25th anniversary of the exercise.
