On Monday, August 26, 2024, Detective Edith Quintana retired from the Webster Police Department, marking exactly 18 years of dedicated service since she began on August 26, 2006. 👮♀️ Throughout her distinguished career, Detective Quintana wore many hats—Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Mental Health Specialist, Police Instructor, Crime Victim Liaison, Administrative Officer, and Detective investigating crimes against persons. Before joining us, she served as a Telecommunications Operator with the Cleveland and League City Police Departments, bringing her total public safety service to 21 years. Her Webster PD family honors her commitment and congratulates her on a well-deserved retirement. 🎉 Thank you, Edith—your presence will be greatly missed! 💙

☔ This rainy weather has us reminiscing about the wonderful time we had this past weekend at Texas Avenue Park! Thank you to everyone who attended our annual Movie in the Park event! We loved seeing your friendly faces and wrapping up the summer season with you all. 🫶

📢 Meet Richard, a young community hero with a big heart! Richard set up a lemonade stand and raised an incredible $300 for the Webster Animal Shelter. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Special Olympics Texas Tip-A-Cop 2024 event at Texas Roadhouse on Thursday! Shout out to the amazing teams from Webster PD, League City PD, Friendswood PD, and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office for making the event a success! We're deeply grateful to all who contributed, participated, and supported us. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $8,406 for Special Olympics Texas! 🎉

During last night's City Council meeting, the City Secretary's Department introduced our new Deputy City Secretary, Lacy Belcher! Lacy worked as a Court Clerk at the City of League City from 2013 to 2021. In 2021, she joined the City of Nassau Bay as Court Administrator/Deputy City Secretary and was appointed acting City Secretary in December 2023, serving in both roles until June 2024. Welcome to the Webster family, Lacy! 🎉

Public Works Administrative Coordinator Pamela Guillory was honored by the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association as Professional Manager of the Year in Administrative Management! This award recognizes an outstanding individual in administration within the public works field who inspires excellence, leadership, and dedication to the public good and whose primary responsibility is managing administrative functions in support of a public works department. Pamela received this award at the annual State conference in San Antonio. Please join us in congratulating Pamela on this prestigious award! 🎉
