We appreciate our volunteers! This group was formed in response to a family member's desire to provide companionship for their loved one living at The Legacy. Before moving in, they had pets but were unable to bring them along. Through a current connection, we found four wonderful handlers and their lovely therapy dogs. They began their monthly visits in October 2023, bringing joy to our Memory Support and Assisted Living residents as they enjoy time with the dogs. At times, the visits also provide a comforting break for team members. We would like to recognize Kim Cameron from Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs for making this connection possible. Thanks to her, Lisa and Ruby, Ron and Dusky, Ruth and Snow, and Micki and Piper have been brightening our residents' days, offering them a bit of the companionship they once cherished.

We're so happy to see Karl doing great! He's moving back into full  recovery, plans to continue with the exercises, and looks forward to his future progress. #reinventingseniorliving #thelegacymidtownparkdallas Here's the background on Karl's physical therapy: "I tore a tendon in my right leg following a Christmas Eve event and had to be immobilized for 6 weeks. Returned to low intensity supervised physical therapy in February. Progressed to unsupervised therapy exercises that I could complete in the Wellness Center. I strive to ensure my goals are accomplished by coming to the Wellness Center daily and doing my necessary exercises." Karl's motto is "Always stay positive," and he offers these tips for a successful outcome with physical therapy: •  Stick to the plan. •  Might not feel great doing it but the feeling after is amazing. •  Don’t let your body give up on you. •  Stay hydrated.
