Cynergy E-Bikes, Dero Playcore, Portland Metro and Portland Bureau of Transportation are our 2024 Alice Awards Complete Street Sponsors. These sponsors are making a big impact in building a safer and greener multimodal world! The money we raise each year at the Alice Awards advances our goal of making Oregon the safest, most multimodal state in America. This work would not be possible without the generosity of our Complete Street Sponsors! Cynergy E-bikes has donated an incredible raffle prize, the Dahon K-One Plus Folding Mid-Drive E-Bike (value: $2,299). This is a great bike for busy multimodal commuters! Get one of 75 remaining raffle tickets for just $100 now for your chance to win! Visit https://lnkd.in/gi3vv2_k While you don’t need to be present at the Alice Awards to win the e-bike raffle, we hope you’ll join us (tickets still available at thestreettrust.org/alice) on September 21st at the Oregon Zoo to celebrate our collective achievements and honor the heroes who improve walking, biking, rolling, and transit in our community.

Thanks to this September’s Alice Awards’ Safe Routes for All Sponsors, Multnomah County Health Department, Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost! We appreciate the continued efforts of these sponsors to better envision a safer Oregon. Beyond investing in The Street Trust's mission, they champion the essential need to make multimodal and active transportation safer, more accessible, more equity and climate friendly: Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost have offered bicycle and pedestrian legal clinics to our community for almost 3 decades. Portland Bureau of Planning & Sustainability promotes low-carbon transportation and participates in our Oregon Friendly Driver programs. Multnomah County Health Department advocates for transportation justice and health equity for street users across identities and zip codes. Do you want to join our list of sponsorship champions? Please reach out to us if you would like to support this year’s Alice Awards.

Did you know that TriMet’s new battery-electric buses are officially on the road! Twenty-four next-generation “e-buses” are entering service with TriMet this year. The first of those buses began welcoming riders aboard Line 9-Powell in July, offering a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride between Downtown Portland and the Gresham Central Transit Center. Read the full update from TriMet here. Pictured above, attendees of the 2024 Oregon Active Transportation Summit enjoyed a behind-the-scenes study tour of TriMet’s Zero- Emission Powell Bus Operations Facility. Renovated in 2022, it currently serves TriMet’s renewable-diesel fuel buses and many zero-emission fleet. Attendees got to learn about changes that TriMet is making to support their bus fleet transition, ways they are expanding transit service, and how the new facility is informing the design of TriMet’s future bus bases. Thank you TriMet, for being a champion of The Street Trust’s mission all year long and for helping ensure safe, affordable, accessible, low carbon mobility for communities across our region.
