Celebrating and protecting the distinctive charms of Massachusetts. For everyone.
Über uns
Founded by landscape architect Charles Eliot in 1891, The Trustees has, for more than 125 years, been a catalyst for important ideas, endeavors, and progress in Massachusetts. As a steward of distinctive and dynamic places of both historic and cultural value, The Trustees is the nation’s first preservation and conservation organization, and its landscapes and landmarks continue to inspire discussion, innovation, and action today as they did in the past. We are a nonprofit supported by members, friends, and donors and our more than 115 sites are destinations for residents, members, and visitors alike, welcoming millions of guests annually. www.thetrustees.org.

Are you ready for a September Supermoon? 🌕✨ On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 10:35PM EDT the Full Harvest Moon will experience a partial lunar eclipse that will be visible for North and South America (except for Alaska), Europe, most of Africa, western Asia, and parts of Antarctica. This eclipse will take place during a "supermoon," which will make the moon appear slightly larger in the night sky. This occurs when the moon is slightly closer to Earth, which happens because the moon's orbit is slightly elliptical, or oval shaped. Celebrate the beauty of the September Full Harvest Moon and Lunar Eclipse with The Trustees! Join us on one of our Full Moon hikes across the state - a perfect way to explore our trails and scenic landscapes under the glowing moonlight. Whether you're walking the dunes trails at Crane Beach or enjoying deCordova Sculpture Park under the big moon, let nature's light guide you into the new season. 🍂🌾 See our full moon adventures here (or see our link in bio): https://lnkd.in/efUbM3JC 📷: Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge, Edgartown #TheTrustees #HarvestMoon #TrusteesTrails #FullMoonMagic #ExploreNature #FallAdventures #FullMoon #LunarEclipse #Supermoon #FullMoonHikes

In the northeast corner of Massachusetts, lies a small town called Newbury. If you find yourself in the area, make sure to visit this lovely, idyllic property called Old Town Hill. When you arrive, you can ascend a short but slightly rigorous climb to the top of this 168-ft coastal hill and enjoy panoramic views of the Great Marsh and New Hampshire's Isle of Shoals. Old Town Hill is a spectacular mix of tidal rivers, salt marsh, open fields, and woodlands; it is truly a wonderful hidden little gem on the North Shore. #TheTrustees #OldTownHill #Hike #FallHike #NewburyMA #Outdoors #Nature #Accessibility [Description: Short video highlighting Old Town Hill in Newbury, MA.]
