Professionelles Training und Coaching

Changing minds for good.

Über uns

With 20+ years experience as an ICF-approved coach-education/training organization, we’re passionate about translating neuroscience into easy-to-implement coaching techniques. When you marry coaching techniques with brain-body biology, you have the recipe for meaningful and lasting change! Who is drawn to our community? People who are curious about human potential, brain-based coaching, conscious evolution, emotional contagion, and more. People who want to give the work-world the gift of environments that foster trust, connection, creativity, and productivity. People who believe that psychologically safe relationships generate better ideas, retention, and profits.

The coach-approach works, creating the template for thought-provoking (and sometimes uncomfortable) conversations that lead to the changes we want to see in ourselves, our teams, and our world.

I ❤️ my WHY. And I discovered it via WHY Institute with Gary Sanchez DDS and his insightful WHY.os discovery. Gary had me join his PODCAST. Listen in to learn: … how my WHY has been with me for decades (though I didn’t realize it) … makes sense of why I love neuroscience and coaching and psychodynamics … gives me an anchor that is flexible, yet grounding and guiding And, if you want to learn more, The Academies is also hosting a special (free) webinar Aug. 29th where you can take the WHY.os Discovery when you attend live. Watch or listen to the episode at this link: https://hubs.li/Q02MxpDt0 Click here to register now: https://hubs.li/Q02MxfW-0 #coaching #why

Neuroscience-Informed Coach Training, INSEAD EMC Student Studying Psychodynamic Approach to Change, Passionate Advocate for Evolutionary Shift from "Red Zone" to "Blue Zone" for Leaders, Coaches & All Fellow Humans

📣 Coaching in the Red Zone: Call for Volunteers for Coaching Research 🔬 To my coaching colleagues: I am excited to be conducting thesis research as part of my Executive Master in Change #EMC degree program at INSEAD. My Question: What prevents, and what promotes, a coach's ability to coach clients who are in the fight-flight state of Red Zone?! The Qualitative Research Focus: Interview coaches who coached a leadership client in distress1️⃣, but felt they could have handled the coaching conversation better2️⃣. We'll also explore what could have been better3️⃣. (See below for details on 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣ !) Here's how you can help make the coach-education process EVEN BETTER! ⏰ Participate in the Research: > Participate in a 60-minute Zoom interview, conducted by Susan Britton, with the utmost confidentiality and respect. (1:1 interviews being scheduled over next 1-2 weeks.) > To the best of your ability, be able to express authentically what you thought, felt, and did, and how it likely impacted the client during the coaching session when you could have handled it better. > Share a second experience of where you felt positive about how you coached a client who was distressed or overwhelmed. > Neither your name nor client identifiers will be shared in the results. ➡ Able to Contribute? Thank you for considering! To contribute, you'll need to: > Hold an ICF credential, OR be currently participating in an ICF Level 1-2 coach-training program. If in-training, completion of at least 20 hours of a training program. > Start the process at this quick Google form and I'll be in touch asap to ensure a good fit! Google Form--takes less than ONE minute: https://lnkd.in/gFUxmP5w And, if someone you know comes to mind, please alert them or repost! 💚 THANK YOU! #coaching #coachingresearch #RedZone #brainfriendlycoaching Details on 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣: 1️⃣ “Client in Distress” is being described as a leader who felt distressed or overwhelmed, where they had no clear solution or really did not want to take the available solution. They were in the "Red Zone" of fight-flight-freeze as they faced their situation. 2️⃣ “Could have handled the coaching conversation better” is described as the coach also slipping into or staying in a fight-flight-freeze state, not demonstrating ICF competencies, etc. (We've ALL been there!) 3️⃣ What would have helped you remain connected-curious, in the "Blue Zone."

  • On your coach-training journey? Enjoy our series from founder Susan Britton MCC on the ICF PCC Markers. Here's a tip for Marker 7.1... 📉 The competencies are not a linear, analytic formula. ⏰ This marker can happen early in the coaching conversation. 🔁 Several competencies and markers can be happening at the same time. Here’s the ICF’s definition of ICF PCC Marker 7.1: Coach asks questions about the client, such as their current way of thinking, feeling, values, needs, wants, beliefs or behavior. Wishing you progress on your coaching journey! #ICFcompetencies #brainfriendlycoaching #neuro #coaching #leadershipcoaching #careercoaching #coachtraining #TheAcademies ✏️ NOTE: There are 37 ICF PCC Markers to be used in the context of ICF Core Competency development. They are NOT a formulaic checklist to pass a PCC performance evaluation, so please listen in the spirit of deepening client connection and supporting client growth!

  • 🧬 If you were to change ONE core belief that could change 1,000 behaviors, what would it be?… Change requires new beliefs. Big change requires new core beliefs. How do you know what your core beliefs are? LOOK AT… ⏰ what you give your time to. 🛎️ behaviors that come easily for you, yet don’t serve you. 👩⚖️ where you get judgmental about others. 😰 fears you have around offending people in your circles. Our deeply held beliefs are steeped in decades of practice, reinforcement, and rewards for associated behaviors. Neural connections and myelinated pathways abound. It’s not easy to change! It takes courage to question beliefs. Coaching Questions: Here are a couple of coaching questions that open exploration of beliefs: 🌱 What belief would you need to let go of in order to see things change? 🏗️ What would need to change in your thinking to be able to do that differently? ⚠️ How would you manage the relationship risks associated with doing that differently? 📝 Note: We don’t recommend exploring questions like this until clients are first clear on their strengths. If not, change can look too overwhelming. What question has helped YOU or YOUR CLIENTS change a core belief? If you want to amp up awareness, attention, and intention for yourself, and for coaching clients, join us in “Changing Minds, for Good”! Our next Certified Executive & Leadership Development Coach course starts in just a few weeks! Thursdays, August 22nd, from 10:00 - 11:30am PT. As I complete the course portion of my latest CELDC Academies cohort, a quote that I heard decades ago comes to mind:  Entrance to another’s soul is a sacred honor.  And it has indeed been an honor. I have just spent the last 10 weeks with these incredible souls – thanks to each of you for showing up the way you did – with compassion, curiosity, willingness to learn and grow and not get it right, and a level of vulnerability that is indeed rare.  Harold Brister, PMP, CSM, LEAN Green Belt, Sylvia Adams (CHRL) Kristina Budelis Kendra Cribley Bethany Denning, MA, SPHR Sheri Evans Depp JoEllen Goldsberry Margot Perlmutter Cassidy Sansone Beth Silhasek Monique Wetli @Kimberly Millner We know we have created something special when we don’t want it to end. It is always so bittersweet! Thankfully we have 4 more weeks of Group Mentor Coaching although this was our last time together as a full group. I cannot wait to see how and where you'll take these leadership and coaching skills to make the world a better place 🌎

  • From VUCA 🚨 to BANI 😱. Beyond knowing the BANI acronym’s 4 words, do we know what’s behind it, and how it relates to cognitive biases? I wasn’t clued in, but gleaned some new insights… A Forbes article by Jeroen Kraaijenbrink does a nice job of explaining BANI, which was invented by the anthropologist and futurist Jamais Cascio. (link in comments) BANI is meant as a description of how the world has become more… ⛓️💥 Brittle 🙀 Anxious 🌀 Nonlinear 🔮 Incomprehensible However, the author suggests that BANI isn’t just a way to look at the world, but a way to look at our perceptions (or illusory biases) of the world. Specifically, ⛓️💥 Brittle - the Illusion of Strength … we tell ourselves the world is strong and indestructible, or that we are strong and indestructible. The truth is, the planet is fragile, and so are we. We must take care of it/ourselves. 🙀 Anxious - the Illusion of Control … we tell ourselves we’re in control. Although we’re in control of our responses (most of the time?!), the reality is that we are not in control of a lot of things. Unrest, war, and crises are a normal part of life on this planet, which we can’t control. 🌀 Nonlinear - the Illusion of Predictability … we assume (or often hope) that there is a straight route from A to B. The reality is that there are traffic jams, construction delays, and unexpected twists and turns in our daily paths. Nonlinearity is part of any complex system. 🔮 Incomprehensible - the Illusion of Knowledge … we love to be able to know, and to make sense of things—it’s part of what the brain is wired to do. But it’s more likely that the only thing we truly know is this: “the more I know, the more I realize I don’t know.” These illusions might amp up anxiety within us. But here’s what we can do: Focus on our 💪🏾 STRENGTHS, 🎮 and what we can CONTROL ⛵️ to prepare for and navigate 🌪️ the UNPREDICTABLE and 🤯 INCOMPREHENSIBLE. #collective #VUCA #BANI #strengthscoaching Ready to help leaders through the VUCA/BANI-ness of the world? • Design thinking is now used by tons of career services professionals in B-schools far and wide. We’ve applied coaching tips/questions to the process. Here’s how: ❤️🩹 Empathize: Designers start by tapping empathy towards the users of the problem they are working to solve. 💯 Coaching Tip: Connect with the client (or yourself!) about how they are thinking and feeling about their problem, circumstance, or situation. • “What has this been like for you?” • “What’s been the biggest challenge in this?” 🔎 Define: What problem is being worked on (e.g., determining a new career direction). 💯 Coaching Tip: Reframe the problem into an opportunity. (Never do so without first empathizing!) • “How would you define the problem you are hoping to solve?” • “What is the opportunity here?” 🤔 Ideate: Stanford’s Bill Burnett and Dave Evans approach suggest three options: For example, 1. The known/expected (e.g., “I want to be in management consulting”) 2. The if-that-can’t-be-an-option option, then maybe this (e.g., “ok, so maybe marketing communications in a CPG company”) 3. The if-no-one-would-laugh-at-me-and-money-were-no-option wildcard option (e.g., “I’d be a world-renowned-chef”) 🧪 Prototype: Ask interesting questions (especially of people already living in the world you’d love to live in), expose assumptions, and involve others with your ideas. 💯 Coaching tip: Invite the client to explore • “What would you love to ask?” • “Who could you explore this topic with?” •“What assumptions might you be bringing? How could you test those?” 🛠️ Test: Use multiple streams for knowing—brain, heart, gut. • “How will you know this is an effective solution?” “There is no right choice. Only good choosing.” ~Bill Burnett, Dave Evans #careercoaching #designthinking Looking to deepen your coaching skills for career change clients navigating a tough job market?
