This Grandparents Day, we reflect on how The Springs Living started with a promise our founder made as a boy to his grandmother: that he would never move her into an "old folks' home." Nearly 30 years ago, he kept that promise by building our first community in Salem, Oregon, which was built to be as warm and welcoming as if she were still living in her house. We still own and operate that community today. That promise has extended to the thousands of older adults we have served over the years. While all our communities have their own unique look and feel, they are all built on shared values and a passion for creating quality resident experiences. Our commitment to all the grandparents who live in our communities remains unchanged. The Springs Living focuses on taking care of the team holistically so they can serve the people living in our communities. Just one way we do this is with our sabbatical program so the team can have an extended break and return to work with a renewed sense of creativity and energy. When a full-time employee reaches a service anniversary divisible by five years, they're granted an additional two weeks of paid leave. Part-time employees get an extra week of paid leave. The sabbatical is one of many ways we support employees' well-being, providing a sense of rejuvenation.
