During the pandemic in 2020, online sales of our officially licensed merchandise were lagging our peers. Upon closer examination we discovered several of our key licensees were no longer selling into/through Amazon for a variety of debatable reasons, effectively taking a significant portion of our product line (and brand) off the nation's (and world's) largest retailer. Fortunately, we used the opportunity to partner with a few new strategic licensees like Trevco (thank you Jared Harding) to help us creatively fill and merchandise this incredibly important channel and significantly improve our online brand visibility and sales performance, including via Amazon, and better assess our (and our licensees') ecommerce strategies. How brands best position themselves at retail will always be a fascinating debate, but when the world's largest retailer is easily lapping its nearest competition, we think it's essential to be smartly partnered with them and/or some of those licensees who are. We continue to look to deepen relationships with and expand our brand presence on Amazon and other leading ecommerce sites.
