As our Town continues to grow and thrive, it is crucial to keep our infrastructure and community services up to date. As part of the Town Council’s Strategic Visioning Priorities, the council collaborates with the Capital Improvement Subcommittee to identify gaps in the town's infrastructure and ensure it meets the demands of a growing community. During the fiscal years 2021-2025, the Town has accelerated many of the projects planned for fiscal years 2026-2030, ensuring that our Town's infrastructure meets the growing needs. This proactive approach means the Town can complete the 2020 Bond Program earlier than anticipated and can begin to prioritize projects and look ahead sooner than originally calculated. 2020 Bonds Update: We have issued 70% of the bond funds already, with 30% still available to support ongoing and future projects. This means significant improvements to our roads, facilities, and public spaces. #ThoroughfareThursday Visit the Town of Prosper's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Dashboard to view the 2020 Bond projects at prospertx.gov/2020bond

Today, we reaffirm our promise to #NeverForget the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The Town of Prosper came together at the Prosper Central Fire Station for a moving 9/11 ceremony, honoring the bravery and sacrifice of that fateful day. Thank you to everyone who came out to remember and pay tribute. Your participation helped us honor those we lost and the incredible bravery that emerged in the wake of tragedy. This ceremony featured remarks from Prosper’s Fire and Police Chiefs, Prosper Mayor David Bristol, and special guest, retired NYPD Officer Hondo Becceril. Officer Becceril shared his reflections on this day of national tragedy and resilience. As we reflect on this day, we stand united in our commitment to keep their memory alive and to celebrate the enduring spirit of resilience and unity that defines our community.

The North Texas Food Bank's annual Peanut Butter Drive is happening now through the end of September! 🥜🧡 With 1 in 7 North Texans facing food insecurity, this is a great opportunity to help our community by donating peanut butter, a highly requested and shelf-stable protein. You can drop off your peanut butter donations at Prosper Town Hall or Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (474 N Hays Rd # E1). NTFB aims to raise $300,000 and collect 100,000 pounds of peanut butter or alternative nut butter to support those in need. Your contributions will help #SpreadTheHope to individuals and families across North Texas. The Town of Prosper and Mayor Bristol are hosting a virtual peanut butter drive to support the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and their mission to close the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food. Thank you, WFAA, for highlighting this special day as we celebrated Prosper's very own Mike Howard, who is currently the longest-serving peace officer in the state of Texas. We were honored to unveil Mike Howard Lane in Prosper, a tribute to his extraordinary service and dedication. Replacing Cook Lane, this street now stands as a permanent reminder of Mike's unwavering commitment to public service. Mike's remarkable journey began in 1952, and his exceptional skills and dedication quickly propelled him through the ranks, achieving the position of police chief by the age of 30. His service extended beyond our community when he served in the Secret Service during the assassination of President Kennedy, a pivotal moment in our nation's history. Mike Howard's leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on our community, and we are grateful for his enduring contributions. Thank you, Mike, for your years of service and for being an inspiration to us all.
