Happy birthday, Sister Yvonne!
Our beloved Sister Yvonne Gellise, celebrated her 90th birthday with a heartwarming reunion at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. Retired chief of surgery Dr. Walter “Mac” Whitehouse and retired planning and design director Dave Raymond presented her with a framed painting and plaque that now hang near the hospital Chapel. During a brief dedication ceremony, current hospital president Alonzo Lewis described her iconic life of service as one in which he and his leadership team aspire to honor and maintain for future generations. “Sister Yvonne became CEO of this hospital in 1968 at the age of 34,” he said. “The lasting impact of her leadership is visible everywhere on this beautiful green campus, and we have an immense sense of accountability to continue the courageous leadership, caring culture and standards of excellence of her enduring legacy.” From all of us at Trinity Health Michigan and the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, Happy Birthday Sister Yvonne!
