Department Spotlight: Kudos to the Property Administration and Facilities Operations teams in Facilities Management. Both teams have been at the forefront of improving the TRS environment - from new bathroom upgrades to enhanced employee breakroom amenities, window shade enhancements, electrical upgrades, as well as ensuring that common areas and conference rooms are always spotless across our locations. Your hard work provides a safe and welcoming space to TRS members and visitors and keeps our employees happy and productive.

Department Spotlight: The Facilities Management department at TRS is composed of two teams and approximately eleven employees. They are a widely diverse group of technical staff members ranging from 5 to 35 years of experience and are instrumental in fulfilling the Facilities Management core mission by providing solutions to ensure a safe and comfortable physical space for visiting TRS members and staff. Their work can be demanding – they have completed 1,480 service requests year to date for 2024. Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we share more information on Facilities Management!

Joshua is an IT Software Developer Intern. He is from Center, Texas and is currently studying Computer Science at UT Austin. Internship Program Spotlight: TRS received over 2,700 applications for this summer's internship program. We are delighted with the 34 talented interns working across 24 teams within the organization. Alexandria is an Organizational Change Management (OCM) Intern this summer. She is from San Antonio and is currently studying Psychology and Plan II at UT Austin. When asked what she hopes to get out of the internship she told us, “During this internship, my goal is to gain more work experience and enhance my professional development. In just a few weeks of being here, I’ve already learned so much from the OCM team, and I look forward to continuing my development and expanding my skills while I’m here. Carter is a Government Affairs Intern. He is from Austin and is currently studying International Relations and Global Studies + Government at the University of Texas. When asked about his internship, Carter shared, “I hope to learn more about the Texas Government through the lens of such an amazing agency like TRS! Amoghavarsha is an Investment Data and Analytics Intern this summer. He is from Plano, Texas and is currently studying Business Analytics at UT Dallas. When asked what he hopes to get out of his internship he told us, “As someone who has pursued careers in multiple fields, this internship gives me the opportunity to solidify my current career path as a data engineer. Esther Cho is a User Experience (UX) Research Intern on the Communications team. She is from Austin and is currently studying Information Studies (MSIS program) at the University of Texas. She told us, “This summer, I am keen on gaining hands-on experience with TRS’s website redesign project. I aim to apply my theoretical knowledge practically and take on responsibilities. During July we will be featuring our TRS Internship Program. TRS offers unique summer internships in departments throughout the agency. The internship program provides an opportunity for college students to explore their interested career field while gaining hands-on work experience. The ten week program offers opportunities to develop leadership skills and participate in networking events such as Lunch and Learn sessions.
