With strict monthly demand targets, TMD’s customer sought a solution to address inconsistencies in cycle time and manual processes within their production line. ⏩ TMD’s goal was clear: introduce a machine that automates staple applications, paces operators, and ensures controlled throughput. TMD worked with Vention to design the cell, along with its structural and automation components, to create a versatile 6-axis Elastic Stapling Machine that integrates existing manual processes with automated systems. 🚨 Welding Cell Integration Complete ✅ We were able to bring this system back to life in order to give our customer a new production line. This cell has increased production capacity and allowed us to showcase our skills when it comes to automation. This customer came to us with no drawings/prints, no programs and no documentation of the used system. We accomplished bringing this used system back to life for a local customer to ring in the new year. This system consisted of an entire re-design of the work cell from scratch. - 2D Cell Layout - 3D Robot Reach Analysis - Robot Pedestal Design and Fabrication - Integration of Reamer/cleaning station - Custom operator interface panel - New Light Curtains - New Safety PLC - New Part Fixturing - New Safety Fencing - New Guard Doors We started with 2 robots on pallets and an ArcWorld positioner that came in used from another facility. No drawings/prints of the system and no base programs. This system consists of 2x DX200/MA1440 Motoman Welding Robots, a 3 Axis ArcWorld Positioner and 2x Motoweld units. This system can weld up to 96 parts an hour or 960 parts per day when running at full capacity. That compared to 38 parts per hour when completed by a manual welding operation is a 153% increase in production capacity. #tmd #motoman #weldingrobot #industrialautomation Turner Machine Development www.tmdautomation.com
