The Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals (ULGA-YP) is comprised of young professionals across metro Atlanta who are dedicated to serving their local communities through social and community activism. Our mission is to support the actions and service of The Urban League of Greater Atlanta (ULGA). ULGA was founded in 1920 as an affiliate of the National Urban League (NUL), to support African American families migrating from the rural communities of Georgia in unprecedented numbers to the vibrant industrialized city of Atlanta. Today, the League’s focus is preparing the workforce for careers in the 21st century and the new economy; raising the graduation rate among metro Atlanta students and preparing youth for college and careers; homeownership and wealth creation; entrepreneurship and small business growth; sustainable communities; and serving as an advocate for education, civic engagement and economic development and a voice for the underserved in our community.

We spent a meaningful Saturday at the Hartnett Community Garden with the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) and Hands On Atlanta 🌱 Our Community Serivce Committee rolled up their sleeves to plant, weed, and revitalize the space, all in support of food distribution for our senior community. It was a day of hands-on service, great teamwork, and making a real impact for those who need it most!

Congratulations to our newly inducted Executive Leadership Team—we're excited to see where your leadership takes us 🚀 We had the privilege of hearing from National Urban League Young Professionals President, Shalondan Hollingshed, who inspired us with her insights on how members can use their voice and gifts to make a meaningful impact within YP.
