Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF, formerly Western NIS Enterprise Fund) is a $285 million regional fund, a pioneer in Ukraine and Moldova with over 29 years of successful experience in investing in small and medium-sized companies. UMAEF was funded by the U.S. government via the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Since its inception, UMAEF’s cumulative investments total over $190 million to 143 companies employing 27,000 people and made it possible to unlock $2.4 billion for companies in Ukraine and Moldova.

  • We congratulate the second wave of winners of the "Microgrants for Big Ideas: Export" project – a grant program by UMAEF in partnership with the Foundation for support of reforms in Ukraine. 👉🏻 Tetiana Boyko – co-owner and CEO of the Ukrainian craft production company specializing in 100% natural pastille, LLC "Territory of Taste". She plans to use the grant funds for trademark registration in EU countries and participation in Bio Expo Warsaw 2024. 👉🏻 Volodymyr Dmytruk – founder and director of a Christmas tree production company. LLC "SIGA GROUP" will allocate the funds to purchase space for setting up its own booth at the international exhibition Christmasworld 2025. 👉🏻 Anna Zhilko – CEO of a protective footwear and clothing production company «Valteks». She plans to use the grant funds to obtain a European certification, which will allow the company to enter the EU market and proudly represent Ukrainian production. 👉🏻 Olena Zhdanova – CEO of LLC "Kvas Beverages". The goal of using the grant funds is to search for new partnerships, expand into new export markets with Ukrainian beverages and food concentrates, and stay updated on trends at the international food exhibition "Sial Paris" to enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian products. 👉🏻 Leonid Pashkevych – CEO of a company developing software and charging stations for electric vehicles. With the help of the grant, LLC "ND Production" aims to certify its products.

  • u.ventures invested in Osavul, an AI-powered media intelligence company Osavul receives a seed investment of $3 million (€2.78 million) from three European investors: 42CAP, u.ventures and SMRK. This makes it one of the biggest investments in Europe in this sector. To support the entrepreneurs who dare to build global ventures is important for u.ventures. “We are focused on ambitious founders from Eastern Europe to support them at this critical period by developing sound economic policy and leadership. Through strategic partnerships with airlines offering direct flights to and from Moldova, the program showcases the country's attractions, culture, and economic potential. A recent example of this collaboration is the feature article, "Ten Reasons to Visit Moldova," in airBaltic's September in-flight magazine. Moldova's connectivity with key European markets is set to grow even further with the upcoming launch of a new Chisinau-Vilnius route.

  • ✨The second wave of the urban movement "City Is Me" supported by Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund has started! The second wave of the interactive urban education program for teenagers will run from September to November 2024. During 11 weekly meetings, teenagers and their mentors will discuss their cities, ecology and architecture, inclusion and transport, roads and parks, and more. Each cell will implement its project, and at the end of the program, they will come together at an urban movement festival. We are happy to support the new generation of leaders by investing in educational and urban projects. We wish the participants of the second wave a pleasant and fruitful academic year!

  • 👏 An art garage created with the support of UMAEF was opened in Chortkiv The event was held within the framework of the “Community ReBulding” project by UMAEF and the Cedos think tank. The project cost one million UAH, said Iryna Ozymok, UMAEF’s Local Economic Development Program Director: "This is one of the ten projects of the first wave of grants from the UMAEF and the Cedos think tank. These were grants to create community centers. 9 such centers have already opened. Now we have announced the second wave and the selection stage is underway.
