Congratulations to Susan Wasser for being honored with the International Sports Heritage Association’s W.R. “Bill” Schroeder Distinguished Service Award – the organization’s highest honor recognizing individuals for meritorious service of a lasting nature in the sports heritage industry. A USGA teammate since 2008, Susan’s impact is felt throughout the organization and the game, specifically through the African American golf archive – one of the deepest collections to exist on the subject – as well as the collection of artifacts on display in the Mickey Wright room at the USGA Golf Museum & Library. Women currently make up around 2 to 4% of the turf management workforce in the U.S. and Canada, but their numbers and influence are growing.   How can the golf industry benefit from tapping into their unique skills and perspective, and what does a career in turf have to offer to women who are interested? USGA Green Section Education Manager Brandi Merrick explains.
