What a day of impact with United Way Miami and BITTS! 🌟 This past Wednesday, we started with a professional development workshop featuring mock interviews for UpSkill Miami students from the Barrington Irving Technical Training School, setting them up for future success. We then took the spotlight on NBC 6 South Florida with Jawan Strader, joined by our President & CEO Symeria Hudson, Captain Barrington Irving and Vonte, a recent UpSkill Miami grad thriving in Miami’s top industries thanks to his aviation maintenance training. ✈️🚀 #DYK that United Way Miami offers wrap-around services, including mentorship, financial literacy education, and ongoing support to ensure the long-term success of individuals like Vonte. Voting in local elections directly influences our daily lives and our ability to build a greater Miami. To help achieve this, The Miami Foundation and United Way Miami are coming together to equip nonprofits with resources to better inform local residents about the candidates in their municipal elections. Through the Vote Miami Microgrant Program, 15 nonprofits will receive $1,000 grants to host candidate town halls or forums! 🎉 We hosted our annual Preservice Conference for Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) teachers and staff! We welcomed 150 dedicated professionals, including teachers, center directors and specialists from our Family Engagement, Health, Intervention and Education teams. The conference centered on professional development and best practices to ensure a successful school year. This year, our partnership will enhance early care and education for 504 children across 19 sites in high-need #Miami-Dade neighborhoods. 🌟 "The best leaders are those who continuously seek to learn and grow." Leading by example, our President and CEO, Symeria Hudson, along with hundreds of other leaders from around the world, completed an intensive, week-long course at Harvard Business School on "Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management."     This diverse group explored innovative strategies to enhance nonprofit impact, engaging in thought-provoking conversations and ideas on how to address the many challenges facing our nonprofit sectors.     United Way Miami's mission is to ensure equality and resources are accessible to everyone in our community and we are dedicated to supporting more than half a million households in need. 💙  #StrongerMiami
