The State Library of North Carolina announced over 2.5 million dollars in grant funding to local libraries. The funds were provided by IMLS through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and will support the critical work of libraries, including developing adult literacy programs, providing learning opportunities for health and wellness, creating welcoming spaces for neurodiverse individuals, and broadening access to materials through digitization and preservation. IMLS has awarded a Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services grant to Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture (INPEACE) to advance their Kaulele Program, to support the preservation and perpetuation of Indigenous languages and traditional cultural practices.
