Identity is the cornerstone of security in today’s digital age. It's the first line of defense against unauthorized access and potential breaches, and, by adhering to robust standards, we ensure that our identity systems are resilient and capable of withstanding sophisticated attacks. Standards are often seen as dense and complex but they are essential for continuous improvement of the posture of identity. These standards provide a framework for consistent protection mechanisms, enabling us to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging threats. They also foster a culture of continuous improvement, where every incident is an opportunity to enhance our security posture. In my conversation with Vasu Jakkal, CVP, Security, I emphasized that the industry’s commitment to these standards is not just about compliance, but about building trust with our users and stakeholders. It’s about demonstrating that we are proactive in safeguarding their data and privacy. Every issue must be analyzed to understand what happened, what we can learn, and what changes are needed to address it, including the establishment of standards for consistent protection mechanisms. As we navigate the complexities of the modern threat landscape, the role of identity and the standards that support it can't be overstated. They are fundamental to our mission of ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital environment.
