What do you know about the Rosenwald schools? If you have not heard of them or don't know very much about this pivotal project, plan to join us September 5 for a special lecture with Andrew Feiler, photographer and author of "A Better Life for Their Children: Julius Rosenwald, Booker T. Washington, and the 4,978 Schools that Changed America". Feiler will discuss his twenty-five thousand mile journey to photograph 105 schools and interview dozens of former students, teachers, preservationists, and community leaders in all fifteen Rosenwald school program states. The Rosenwald program was one of the earliest collaborations between Jewish and Black Americans , drove dramatic improvement in African American educational attainment, and fostered the generation who shaped the Civil Rights Movement. This lecture is presented in partnership with the Weinstein Jewish Community Center and the Virginia Holocaust Museum. Details and tickets at https://lnkd.in/eenZ9mwf

Presidential Historian. Writer. Speaker. Author of Making the Presidency, The Cabinet, Mourning the Presidents.
Officially one month to publication date: book tour here I come! I am so excited to meet readers out in the world. When *The Cabinet* came out in 2020, we were three weeks into the pandemic lockdown and all of my events were canceled or moved online. I am still doing a little online, but so thrilled to be in person too. More details to come, including links to register and conversation partners! And probably a few moving pieces too, but it's a great start. Pre-order your copies wherever you like to buy books, including your local stores. They are always happy to order for you. If you can't attend an event, you can buy a signed copy for 30% off here! https://lnkd.in/euMficQU
