Join us for a discussion and Q&A with Samuel Hernandez, LMSW, from Gilda's Club, about cancer programs and services such as support groups, counseling, and nutrition, available to you. FREE Program begins at 5:30pm on Thursday, September 12 and refreshments will be served.

Donating blood can save a life especially for someone who is battling Sickle Cell Disease. Sickle Cell Disease affects 1 out of every 365 Black or African American births and, right now, more than 100,000 people are living with the disease in the U.S. Your precious gift of blood and time can make a difference in those living with the disease. With your support, our patients are able to receive free nutritious groceries and produce twice a month, participate in health education events, and get assistance from Feeding Westchester in enrolling in NY’s SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Plan). We are grateful for their contribution to helping us care and feed for our patients’ bodies and spirits.

Quitting is hard, but we are here to help you kick your habit! Westchester Community Health Center is excited to offer the Freedom from Smoking Program developed by the American Lung Association proven to help you quit. Our next free 7-week session starts on Tuesday, September 17 to Tuesday, October 29 at WCHC Yonkers 30 South Broadway Yonkers, NY from 2 pm to 3 pm. At the sessions, you will learn about medications to help you quit, lifestyle changes you can make, ways to avoid gaining weight, and how to stay smoke-free for good.
