A moment for our newest school building - DREAM Highbridge! Monday marked the first day of school EVER in our permanent, beautiful new home at 1162 River Ave in the Bronx. To new and returning students - welcome to your new school, where learning is joyful, friendships are forged, and dreams take flight.

Welcome back, DREAM family! 🎉 Our school halls were buzzing yesterday with excitement as we kicked off a new school year filled with promise, growth, and endless possibilities. Here’s to embracing new challenges, making memories, and dreaming big every day. Let’s make this year the best one yet!

Congrats to our Co-CEO, Eve Colavito, for being selected as one of the 18 senior education leaders to join this incredible cohort at The Broad Center. At DREAM, the learning truly never stops! 

✨ We dream bigger when we dream together! ✨ The 2024 DREAM Big Institute brought us together to rally around "Bending the Arc," our bold new strategic plan. We were deeply inspired by keynotes from Misty Copeland and Colin Kaepernick, who shared how impactful educators recognized their potential and shaped their futures. This powerful reminder reinforces our commitment to shaping a future where every single child, from every single zip code, can influence and lead generational change. Over the next five years, DREAM is committed to: • Growing our impact by offering an education that empowers students to take control of their futures. • Investing in people by fostering long-term, supportive relationships. • Building for future dreams by ensuring our organization remains strong and responsive to the needs of our students and families. By 2028, we’ll serve 2,800 students across three permanent campuses, growing from the 1,800 we currently serve. With this renewed focus and the energy, we’re ready to bend the arc toward equity and create lasting impact for our Bronx and Harlem communities.

There are just two weeks left until the official start of the school year, and our DREAM teachers and leaders are hard at work preparing for the first day! Last week, we welcomed all new staff to their orientation institute at 20 Bruckner, while this week will be filled with activities for all school and network staff. We can’t wait to see our students soon! #dreambig

Today was the last day of New Staff Institute & I am so excited about the new teachers in our building. They all engaged so thoughtfully with each session, prioritized practice, asked great questions, and brought their authentic selves into the space. Our scholars are so lucky to have them & I look forward to supporting them in doing their best work this school year!

A DREAM Summer like no other! Today marks the last day of programming for our REAL Kids and DREAM University students, who have spent the last five weeks building upon their classroom studies, soaking up new enrichments, and having a ball on playing fields across NYC! Thank you to everyone who made this summer so special, especially our teachers, coaches, and DCHS students who supported our young people all summer long ☀️ #summerlearning #funisaseriousvalue

This select group is participating in DREAM’s annual student exchange in partnership with Sport dans la ville, meeting with hundreds of other students from across the world and taking in the historic #Paris2024 sights! 🥇
