Wellnest out in the community! 🎉

Wellnest was proud to participate in the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce Biz Expo at the Sheraton Fairplex. With 180 businesses registered and over 1,500 attendees, the expo showcased Latino-led businesses and had valuable panel discussions. Wellnest promoted our programs and services for at-risk children and families, interacted with other companies and attendees…and had FUN! 🎉 Wellnest announces our Centennial Celebration Master of Ceremonies, Chris Schauble, with KTLA 5! Chris is co-anchor of the KTLA 5 Morning News weekdays from 4-7 a.m. He also co-hosts, “Off the Clock” at 2 p.m. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2001, Chris has earned multiple awards, including five Emmys and six Golden Mics. Chris is passionate about his work, family, and fitness. He is a former marathoner and triathlete, having completed three full Ironman competitions, including the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Chris also coached youth track for eight years as a USATF Level 1 Coach. During that time he helped dozens of athletes become All-Americans. As an adoptee himself, Chris has dedicated much of his free time to helping children in need. In 2018, Chris was honored as, “Man of the Year” by United Friends of The Children for his work with foster youth nearing emancipation. He has also been recognized by the city of Los Angeles and the state of California multiple times for his ongoing community service. Chris and his wife have two sets of adult twin daughters, and live in greater Los Angeles. Last Thursday, Wellnest transformed the City Club Los Angeles into a lively social club with our "Sip and Social"! Supporters and their friends mingled over cocktails and delicious appetizers while learning about Wellnest’s programs for children, young adults and families. The evening featured a brief presentation from Wellnest President & CEO Charlene Dimas-Peinado and concluded with an open invitation to join us at the Centennial gala on September 27th. 💚 This week, Dr. Lea Velez and four students from the Texas State University School of Social Work visited Wellnest. The group had a tour of our University Park building, therapy rooms, the family resource center, and they were kind to donate school supplies to our Back-to-School event on Jul 27th! 📚 💚 These visits promote fellowship among similar programs, and we have the opportunity to share information and best practices, which Wellnest highly values! This is the third year Dr Velez has visited Wellnest with students, and we look forward to continuing our partnership! #texasstateuniversity #wellnest #wellnestturns100
