Über uns

The world has changed. Our mission hasn't. We’ve been serving people since 1893. Since that time, we’ve walked alongside generations of people of all ages and walks of life. We’ve built more than a deep history. We’ve built a legacy of trust across Michigan. Through that trust, we have adapted to a world that is constantly changing. We’ve rethought and restructured our core competencies to ensure we never lose sight of our own purpose of sharing hope when circumstances may not feel hopeful. We do that one person at a time, which impacts one family at a time. And in turn, that has the power to transform one community at a time. On your most difficult day, we will be right beside you. On the happiest day when you are ready to celebrate tremendous outcomes and hard-fought battles, we will be beside you. When other people run, we show up in force. It’s who we are at our core. It’s our DNA. It’s what makes us Wellspring. So, here we are.

  • WELLSPRING HOSPICE COMPANIONSHIP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | Saginaw/Bay County Area Do you have a heart for people? A heart for their stories and for bringing joy to the lives of others who might be experiencing a challenging time? If so, you might be just the person we are looking for to fill our volunteer needs within our hospice program. Our Wellspring hospice program is looking for a few companionship volunteers for the Saginaw/Bay County area. Volunteers give their time to provide quality of life support for clients, caregivers, and staff. The frequency and duration of assignments are based on volunteer availability. Examples of companionship volunteer assignments include sitting and listening/sharing, reading aloud, assisting with hobbies, playing games, etc. One of our Wellspring hospice volunteers shares, "Wellspring hospice patients come with such rich histories. They appreciate an eager listener with whom they share these memories. One patient talked about making ice which his company sold to homes with ‘ice boxes’. Another taught me about lumbering and logging. Each patient story is a delight to listen to. When the patient sees that I enjoy listening to them share, their eyes light up, and they do more and more talking. Their families have probably heard these stories again and again… and sometimes they tell them to me again and again… but each time I enjoy the sharing as though it were the first time. Listening never fails to provide a comfortable visit for them and me." If you are interested in making a meaningful impact in someone's life, please contact Kim Jenks at 989-652-4663 or email [email protected]. Your companionship can bring comfort and joy to our patients.

  • We are thrilled to express our heartfelt gratitude to C&L Ward Bros, Inc. in Davison for their incredible support of Camp Hope! Thanks to their dedicated employees and generous sponsors, $10,600 was raised this year to benefit the children and families we serve through Camp Hope, a free grief came for kids here at Wellspring. Special thanks to Lori Smith, a Wellspring accountant, and her husband, John Smith, a C&L Ward employee, for leading the effort. Camp Hope is in its 21st year of serving kids impacted by loss, and it wouldn't be possible without such dedicated support. We appreciate all of our donors who support Camp Hope. Camp is fully funded by generous donors just like C&L Ward. This marks the second year that C&L Ward has supported Camp Hope. We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment. Camp Hope this summer will be from August 14-16, and we still have room for additional campers! If you know a friend or family member with a child who has suffered a loss and could benefit from attending, please contact Wellspring. To learn more about Camp Hope, visit - https://lnkd.in/gveq5DwW. *** Camp Hope is a 3-day camp for youth aged 6-17 to help learn how to process grief from losing a loved one. It also offers them an opportunity to interact and connect with each other — lessening the feeling of loneliness that often accompanies childhood grief.

  • Yesterday, at the Reunification Day celebration organized by West Michigan Partnership for Children (WMPC) at the John Ball Zoo, our own Leonica Erwin delivered unforgettable words. Despite the 98-degree heat and a long day, Leonica captivated everyone with her passionate and heartfelt speech about the importance of community and family reunification. Two of our Wellspring families, who have been reunified after foster care, were also present. Our families attending along with Wellspring staff emphasizes the strong relationships that are built through a foundation of mutual trust and a common goal. We are so proud of all of our Wellspring families who work hard to be reunified. To explore careers at Wellspring, visit lifeatwellspring.com #ReunificationMonth #fostercare
