At Women and Climate, a core component of our mission is to accelerate climate action through raising awareness, making the subject top of mind. There’s no easier or better way to raise awareness than talking about climate change regularly through social media. However, sharing your thoughts on social media in general can be daunting and intimidating, let alone thoughts on climate change and sustainability. Our "Let’s Talk Climate" initiative aims to remove barriers and make it easier for everyone to collectively talk about climate change and sustainability. When women are included in climate decision-making, projects have a 35% higher likelihood of improving outcomes. But, only about 34% of climate negotiators were women at COP28. (Source: IUCN + WEDO) 🤝 We see gender inequality show up in many ways, from pay to career opportunities, educational opportunities, disaster responses, and more. Despite facing inequality, women are powerful influencers—shaping the lives of children, friends, and colleagues.
