Right now, we are celebrating the wonderful and diverse team members that help make WHW's mission possible. Today, we would like to recognize Ebonie Byndon Fields- our Director of Court, Campus, and Outreach. Ebonie works directly with our Hamilton and Butler County offices to ensure that staff members know how to best support survivors, as well as assist any survivor through criminal court proceedings where there are criminal charges pending against the offender. When asked why she loves working at WHW, Ebonee states, "I work in an environment where I feel encouraged and supported by my colleagues and I am surrounded by very knowledgeable and intelligent people who both motivate and inspire me every day." To sum up, Ebonie is grateful for the team she has, and the support that they are able to provide to survivors of gender-based violence.

Meet Donna, our Senior Director of Intervention at Women Helping Women. She is dedicated to ensuring survivors get the services they need. She works directly with our partners, such as hospitals and law enforcement to build relationships and make sure we stay survivor-centric. When asked what she loved about her position and WHW she said "Is it possible to love everything?" Summed up, she loves the central focus on our survivors of gender-based violence. #leadership #empowerment #growthmindset

Students should be safe to pursue their academic dreams and all of their dreams. In honor of Andrea Rodriguez Avila, a junior who was majoring in political science at Rice University, and who was killed on the first day of school, we want to remind the community that anyone who may want support, that Women Helping Women of SW Ohio has campus advocates who respond to student survivors & we support 6 Universities. In particular, WHW Campus Advocates have offices at University of Cincinnati & at Miami University. Partnering with education systems matters. Our Hotline is free & confidential 24/7 to support survivors and their loved ones: 513.381.5610. #students #support #survivors #universities #colleges #education #community

August’s episode of “Calling Attention to Prevention” is live! This episode addresses the principles of trauma-informed education and the applications to violence prevention work. This month, Sarah Zawaly, LISW and Sachika Singh, MA with Joining Forces for Children, an initiative spearheaded by the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, shared their expertise. Their expertise sheds light on the benefits of trauma-informed classrooms and how we can collaborate to enable resilient and equitable communities for youth and families.
