𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦, 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧̃𝐨𝐬✨ If we want a more just world, we must start with our children. That’s the message of the Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC). The curriculum teaches children a fundamental reality: we are all equal in dignity. And because of this dignity, all human beings are worthy of respect. When children understand this, it’s the first step towards a future of freedom and justice. On March 18, 2024, the Province of Antique, Philippines adopted an ordinance institutionalizing the Human Dignity Curriculum in all public and private schools. The provincial ordinance was sponsored by Antique Board Member Dr. Mayella Mae Plameras-Ladislao and signed into law by Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao on March 27. The statute is entitled An Ordinance Empowering Children, Adolescents and Youth Through Enactment of the Human Dignity Education Program in the Province of Antique. It aims to recognize the importance of instilling values such as respect, empathy, and kindness in educational institutions. “Through the provincial HDC ordinance, we hope to equip future generations to value human dignity and foster a deep sense of meaning and purpose among our learners,” says Dr. Plameras-Ladislo. Ashley Kutter played a crucial role in expanding regional training to Georgia and has been actively involved with WYA since attending a summer camp years ago. She initiated a Club and taught the CTP at her school, resulting in certification for herself and her classmates. Perla Tannous is the former president of the WYA National Committee of Lebanon. She has trained in the CTP and HDC at schools throughout Lebanon. Her pro-life network has enabled the achievement of these partnerships at the regional level. Her commitment to the region has extended the committee's activity, acquiring many more members and proposing projects that to this day allow for a seamless transition. Lyonga Jervis completed several WYA programs including the Certified Training Program, TOT, Advocacy Academy, and Regional Internship Program. He also served as a leader of the WYA National Committee of Cameroon and taught the HDC. Their significant contribution includes single-handedly securing an HDC partnership with Bishop Rogan College and successfully running its implementation and graduation ceremony. Each generation must recommit to understanding, and defending, the dignity of the human person. Totalitarian ideologies at their core aim to reshape ideas and truths about the human person to bring about their desired political and social change and reform. The idea of equal rights for everyone is called into question by a growing list of “-isms”. The free exchange of debate and ideas is mistaken for guilt by association. Fundamental truths about the human person must always be at the center of policy and culture. Yet, they are increasingly veiled or entirely confused by gender and trans-humanist ideologies.
