We continue to be impressed and inspired by the outstanding work being done throughout WSWHE BOCES. One of our core values is Wellness, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (W.I.D.E). So we are giving a shoutout to those employees from our various locations who embody positivity, are welcoming, bring energy to their work environment, or show kindness towards others. Rob Somma has been a part of the CTE instructional team at the SAEC for seven years and recently took over the lead role in the Automotive Technology program when Mr. Cole retired two years ago. He has proven himself to be a highly skilled and competent student centered member of the team. His students are always set for success and highly sought after by our automotive business and industry partners throughout the region. Rob always makes himself available to both staff and students to provide good automotive advice when the need arises and his students follow that model. Rob is a true asset to WSWHE BOCES!

Shoutout to our School Support Services staff! Around the table is over 100 years of service to WSWHE BOCES. Ellen Franklin-Furgason (right) had her last day today as Enrichment Support Specialist in the WSWHE BOCES - Enrichment Resource Center. For 21 years Ellen has been done everything from the Talent Unlimited Journal and the Regional Spelling Bee, to STEAM Academy and much much more. Thank you Ellen! Several WSWHE BOCES retirees and current staff stopped by to wish her well! Happy retirement!

School's (almost) out for summer! 🌞 ⛱ With many trade schools, universities, and other educational programs finishing up their sprimg terms, we wanted to say a giant THANK YOU to the students and emerging professionals we engaged with this school year, as well as the organizations who made those engagements possible. Between onsite visits and offsite conferences, we reached over 1,000 young people in the 2023-2024 - and no, we did not accidentally add a '0'! In our Argyle, Orlando and Pasadena facilities alone, we've welcomed over 600 students - just since January. 😮 Since several of our Executives are former professors, facilitating education and training has always been a core value. We're glad we've had so many opportunities to walk our talk, and we can't wait to welcome even more students, young professionals, and educational partnerships next year. Karen La Marque has served WSWHE BOCES since 2016 as secretary to the principal in the Exceptional Learners Division (ELD). Karen has been extremely instrumental in the ELD office. She is effective, efficient, and creates a welcoming office. There aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe her. Her interaction with parents, districts, CSE chairs, and outside providers make Karen an outstanding ambassador for WSWHE BOCES. A true team player, Karen is always willing to lend a helping hand and support her colleagues in any way possible. We are glad to have Karen on our team!
