Last Friday, Fulcrum President Daryl Luter had the honor of attending the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of Mac Hall at the YMCA of Greater Boston Pleasant Valley Campground in Tuftonboro, NH! This meaningful project allows the entire girls’ camp to dine together on the same floor, fostering the strong sense of community central to the camp experience. The expansion also includes new bathrooms, ADA ramp access, and fire suppression systems, highlighting the camp’s commitment to camper well-being. A special thank you to the YMCA Team, Market Square Architects, Scalora Consulting Group, Trillium Engineering Group, AKF Group, BSC Group, and the numerous subcontractors who generously donated labor and materials. Through our collaboration, Fulcrum secured approximately $75,000 in donations for this project. Did you know that our centers employed 243 youth this summer in partnership with the City of Boston? At our "Passport to Success" event on Saturday, our youth employees attended dozens of workshops and Rockland Trust's "Credit for Life" financial literacy fair to build the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in their personal and career journeys. We're so grateful for Rockland's generous, multi-year commitment to youth employment at the Y and their incredible volunteer support this weekend! For national #seniorcitizensday, we're celebrating Yue Tang's 98th birthday!🎂 She's a longtime member of the Wang YMCA of Chinatown, and her favorite exercises are bicycling and walking. Her youthful spirit and contagious energy are a reminder to all of us that seniors are strong, active, and outgoing. The key to living a long life, she says, is drinking Chinese tea. 🍵

In all areas of our work, it’s our mission to create a place of belonging for all at our Y’s, and we’re proud to have provided one for Matt.
This! So proud of my son, Matthew Goodwin, sharing his Final Night reflections on his time at North Wood Camp. He's been at camp for 15 years (actually arriving there at about 3 weeks old!); now he's taking time to reflect on what he's learned and the legacy he hopes to leave as he moves on to whatever comes next! Settle in for 10 minutes to take a listen, paying special attention to how important this "bastion of belonging" has been. That's what I want for all young people - a place where they are heard, seen and valued, and where their voices are honored as is clearly evident at this special place called North Woods.
