This summer, they had a blast playing in an 8-week league that sharpened their baseball skills, fostered teamwork, and provided life skills. The six teams were all named after Big 10 colleges, keeping college top of mind! WHAT 👏 A 👏 NIGHT 👏 ICYMI: Yesterday was Women's Equality Day, and we celebrated with an ICONIC Period Party® at Guaranteed Rate Field. ⚾ Claire Coder, Krista Plewes and Samantha Sharfin joined the Chicago White Sox staff and dozens of volunteers to pack 20,000 pads into period kits to be donated to menstruators in need throughout Chicago via the WORKING ON WOMANHOOD PROGRAM. The Refugee Life Foundation, Community Retail Association and The Athlete’s Foot - Chicago partnered with Youth Guidance on Wednesday, August 21st, to give 500 pairs of shoes to students across Chicago and members of the Pullman community. Alando Tucker and Michael Harris also spoke at our event. We had some wonderful volunteers come out to help, especially mentors from Alando’s foundation, Arcitec, came out and lead some activity stations. Adtalem Global Education’s very own Michael Patrick came and led the Lap Around the Track station! This is our third year in Pullman doing this event. Every year we make tweaks to make it better and this year has been the best so far. I’m looking forward to an even better event next year.
