As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Friends of West Windsor Open Space (FOWWOS) is dedicated to preserving open space and conserving natural resources in West Windsor Township. Our goals include:

FOWWOS plays a vital role in helping West Windsor Township acquire properties for farmland, recreational venues, and preserved wildlife habitats. Our members are actively involved in discreet negotiations with property owners to prevent premature developments that could drive up land prices.

Operating behind the scenes, we provide essential services such as funding appraisals and environmental investigations, enabling the township to act swiftly in the pre-purchase process. Our efforts also extend to securing grants from the New Jersey Green Acres program and Mercer County, often doubling the available grant funds and covering more than 50% of the final purchase cost.
