  • COMAP Mathematical Contest in Modeling - Outstanding Winner

Completed a 61 page paper in 96 hours with 2 other students modeling how to find a plane lost over open water. Examined statistical methods and logistics of search and rescue. Received one of five "Outstanding Winner" designations out of 2280 international undergraduate teams.

  • Gateway to Space BalloonSat

    -

Design, build, and fly a satellite to 100,000 ft via balloon. Follow the engineering design process from proposal and Conceptual Design Review through launch and post-analysis. Collect environmental data, take pictures, and develop a special payload to test the feasibility of thermoelectric power harvesting in near-space. Won best in class award at CU Engineering Design Exposition.
