“I volunteered with Ashirbad in 2011 where Eva-Marie acted as the leader and coordinator of the volunteer programme.. From the offset she was a great leader to the group ensuring that all aspects of the trip were organised well in advance. On arrival in India, Eva Marie's leadership skills and resourcefulness meant that none of the group had any trouble integrating with the programme. On return from India I became involved with the Ashirbad board. Here I worked alongside Eva-Marie on the organisation, promotion and execution of the Ashirbad Volunteer programme. Working with Eva Marie it became apparent how much involvement she had put in behind-the-scenes to ensure a flawless program. In 2015, when the Nepal Earthquake made the programme in Kalimpong unsuitable, Eva Marie took a pragmatic approach in finding an alternative solution for the Volunteers. Within a week of the disaster, Eva Marie had arranged alternative placements as well as raising significant funds to send to the effected area. It is clear that Eva Marie does not do things by half and when she takes on a project she will see it through, regardless of any obstacles. It has been a pleasure working with Eva Marie in the past and I hope I have the opportunity to work with her again.”
