    Leadership Dallas was formed by the Dallas Regional Chamber for leadership development. The program is designed to recognize and attract leaders who are committed to making a difference in Dallas; providing in-depth education about the workings of the city; impacting the betterment of Dallas and nurturing long-term ownership for making Dallas a better place to live through insight, education and collaboration. The course is limited in size and provided to applicants who undergo an application and selection process based on their historical skill and commitment to the community. The course consisted of 8 sessions (one per month) that explored various areas of the community from government, education, healthcare, and community service. The course culminated in a class project that provided smoke detectors to low income family homes in the local community.

    This project is a control center and data center for an electric company located in the southern area of the U.S. The intent is to expand their capabilities to support existing operations and future client needs. The project is in the early design stages at this time.

    A fully functional and redundant operations facility for a major transportation organization. The project includes approximately 450 workstations as well as training rooms, conference rooms, private offices, and expansion space. The facility was constructed in an existing building that required significant upgrades to accommodate enhanced wind loading, redirection of storm drainage, and redundant power connections. The size of the facility is approximately 200ksf and located in the NE area of…

    After an exhaustive search for sites in the San Antonio downtown area, CPS Energy decided to purchase the former AT&T building off McCullough Ave., Corgan provided the full design for the renovation of the facility. The primary objective of the project was to modernize the facility and create a collaborative environment for the staff. The first level is a conference center and cafeteria space, accessible by the public. The second level holds secure functions and training, as well as a collaborative We Proudly Brew Starbucks coffee bar. The third level is a call center with access to balconies with views to the San Antonio River to help employees get a break from the hectic nature of call center operations. The remaining floors are dedicated to various departments and executive office functions. The renovation will include the infill of the floors to square off the building and reduce the amount of exterior skin by approximately 40,000 sf. The site will be connected to the Riverwalk in the San Antonio Museum Reach. The client intends to get the project LEED certified, at the Gold level.

  • Parking Garages-American Airlines HQ Campus

    Two parking garages were constructed to accommodate campus growth for American Airlines for their training and operations facilities. Over 4000 spaces were provided across the north end of the campus. This project also included the design and construction of a new Central Utility Plant to accommodate the growth of the south end of the campus.

    The American Airlines Integrated Operations Center is the combined control center facility for the integration of day of departure activities for US Airways and American Airlines. The facility was constructed under the Integrated Project Delivery Approach and achieved design and construction in just 14 months. The 150,000 SF facility is hardened for tornado force winds and accommodates over 800 control center positions.

    This project provides Maxim IP a state of the art corporate campus by renovating an underutilized, corporate facility. The renovation included improvements to 425,000 gross square feet of office building. Exterior improvements include updates to the entry drive, the courtyard and building modifications at the main entry. New lobby spaces were created that are open and visible from the outside. A dramatic two story volume signifies the main entry for visitors. Interior improvements include a complete update to the building layout and interior finishes. Functioning elements of the original facility such as a commercial kitchen, elevator, restroom and stairwell locations remain in place. The interior design of this facility includes sophisticated electronics laboratories for product testing and development.

Design began January 2011, with construction beginning in May and Fossil’s first move commenced August 22, 2011. The Corgan team had three weeks, over the winter holidays, to complete programming of 64 departments. Due to the changing nature of the retail industry, a…

    This project was a 535,000-square-foot global headquarters relocation for Fossil’s lifestyle and watch brands. The project was an extremely fast-paced consolidation of employees and functions from three separate facilities. Design began January 2011, with construction beginning in May and Fossil’s first move commenced August 22, 2011. The Corgan team had three weeks, over the winter holidays, to complete programming of 64 departments. Due to the changing nature of the retail industry, a flexible planning strategy was employed once the requirements were captured. The output of the visioning and planning then had to be overlaid on the existing building selected for relocation. The selected building, former headquarters for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, was actually two buildings creating a challenge in meeting Fossil’s primary goal of connectedness. Ultimately all programming, design, and construction documents were completed in four months. The project includes a full-service dining/cafeteria, fitness center and auditorium with gallery and town hall meeting spaces.

    This Corporate Data Center 2 is a Tier 4 guided mission critical facility designed by FWAI Architects and Corgan. The facility is designed to accommodate multiple phases of growth on the site. The first phase includes 80,000 SF of available space for raised floor computing environment with a total gross building square footage of 260,000 SF. The back of house included in the initial building footprint will accommodate an additional 80,000 SF of raised floor computing environment for a total of 160,000 SF. The 53.4 acre site will further accommodate an additional 40,000 SF of computer area plus associated UPS and battery rooms should HCSC require further growth. The facility is fed by two 24.9kV utility transformers for 2N capacity with feeders to an additional future pair of 24.9 kV utility transformers. Ten 2,500 kW diesel generators will be provided for an N+2 configuration with a 48 hour fuel storage capacity. Ten 1000 kVA UPS modules are provided with a 5000 amp capacity for both main and paralleling switchgear. Cooling tower and chiller plants are provided at 2N for the current and future phases. Chilled water redundancy is provided by an ice bank which provides up to 3 hours of chilled water to the facility in an emergency. Further redundancy is provided from the onsite retention pond that maintains its level From 2 separate onsite water wells. The building is constructed to withstand 150 MPH wind loads at the roof and 200 MPH lateral wind loads at the walls.

Each ground up 304,000 SF facility houses nearly 100,000 SF of raised floor computer environment, with the remaining area dedicated to critical infrastructure space for its large indoor electrical and mechanical support systems as well as a small office area for data center support personnel.
    The facilities utilize full 2N critical power and mechanical systems. Utility power is provided by a 138kv substation on site (Buckeye only) and transformed to 13.2kV medium voltage to serve each of the six UPS systems. The total 30 UPS modules represent 22,500 kva of installed UPS and battery. Twelve 2-megawatt engine generators support the anticipated 10MW total load with redundancy to spare.
    Both are unique in its design ability to withstand 175 mph winds (F3 tornado speeds) through a special roof assembly, structure, and outdoor equipment protection.
    Lonestar is also the first nationwide LEED Gold certified Data Center.

    The new Corporate Headquarters for CROSSMARK projects the company’s guiding principles of quality, stability and strength. The facility and master plan respond to CROSSMARK’s operational requirements, growth needs and employee satisfaction levels. The three building, 300,000 SF complex is configured in a U-shape joined by 2 connectors, which provide core functions for all three buildings. The interior of the U-shape is a densely landscaped motor court for visitor parking. All employee parking is provided directly under these buildings in two continuous levels. Interior design services were also provided by Corgan. The lowest level was carved out to provide a dual function 600-seat auditorium, and a dining facility with a kitchen and servery. The central dining area is a triple volume space overlooking White Rock Creek, while the third floor has been dedicated for executive offices and includes a private terrace overlooking the lake. Additional public terraces were provided on the ground floor and outside the dining facility for group functions or private contemplation.
