    Read Ahead matches mentors who come from from over 40 partner organizations with students at 16 public schools in the NYC area. Volunteers who join Read Ahead’s reading-based mentoring program mentor and read one-on-one with the same student at an elementary school near their office for the duration of the school year. Mentors commit to one lunch hour each week or every other week from October - May to build a relationship with the same student throughout the school year.
