  • Project Reconnect: A Reconstruction of the History of the Beta Iota Chapter

    This project is designed with reconstructing and documenting the history of the Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi at the University at Buffalo. Beta Iota is one of the oldest chapter, having been initially charted in 1931, as well as one of the largest in the region. Through a variety of roles in the fraternity (including Historian, Vice President of Membership, and Vice President of Alumni & External Relations), I oversaw the research and documentation of various components of our structure…

    This project is designed with reconstructing and documenting the history of the Beta Iota Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi at the University at Buffalo. Beta Iota is one of the oldest chapter, having been initially charted in 1931, as well as one of the largest in the region. Through a variety of roles in the fraternity (including Historian, Vice President of Membership, and Vice President of Alumni & External Relations), I oversaw the research and documentation of various components of our structure and history. This included: members, lineages, positions, Executive Board Officers, previous events held, photographs of members and events, alumni contact information, and alumni career histories. This greatly helped fraternity operations and improved our culture. Through the information collected, we were able to successful reconnect our alumni to our chapter, improve relations, and provide job opportunities for our members.
