  • Detroit Media Outlets Join Forces in Cooperative

    Looking at a yearlong project launched by the Detroit Journalism Cooperative, I did interviews and shot video on the initiative which looked at how media covered the city, which had undergone massive economic upheaval and was experiencing a bankruptcy at the time.

    This was a monthslong investigation into the infestation of the synthetic drug K2, centering on a corner in Bushwick, Brooklyn that consistently confounded the police and public health system and seemingly had no solution because of its elusiveness.

    This was an online project in which I interviewed several key subjects on the circumstances surrounding the Los Angeles riots, 15 years after they occurred.

    I'm very proud to serve my community as a member of Phi Beta Sigma. This is the third chapter I've had the privilege of being an active participant. In addition to being part of the managerial leadership of the Brooklyn chapter, Kappa Beta Sigma, I also serve as a coordinator for our Sigma Beta youth auxiliary where I can help shape young minds for the future.
