Being the daughter and granddaughter of breast cancer survivors has made this cause near and dear to my heart. Bright Pink is different in that it's an organization aimed at educating young women on their risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer, so they can enjoy a full adulthood being informed and ready for whatever comes their way. Bright Pink is an excellent example of how women coming together can affect incredible change.

Partnering with the official sponsor of birthdays is something that was easy to get behind! Over my years with the ACS, I've had a blast at their events. Between sharing in the celebration of survivors seeing another birthday, and supporting those who continue to fight, my time helping the ACS has been a joy.

I was the EC Secretary for Cal Poly Pomona's chapter of LYM. Along with official duties, I especially enjoyed my visit to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Children's Hospital. That day I was able to make kids diagnosed with cancer feel like the superheros they are, and give some amazing parents support and encouragement. A day I'll never forget.

I am so grateful to the Girl Scouts of America for making me the woman I am today. By being a Girl Scout during my childhood, I learned the value of hard work, leadership, and aiding others. I really credit my attitude of "I'll just roll my sleeves up and do my best, no matter what" towards new or unfamiliar challenges to the Girl Scouts.
