If you’re not sure how to tell a story effectively, the Story Spine improv frame is something to have in your toolbox. Consider starting your presentation with the beginning of the story and leaving your audience with a “cliff hanger” while you weave the rest of the story throughout your presentation. Using the end of your story to wrap up your presentation brings closure in a way that is memorable. What are the best ways to create a memorable presentation opening and closing?
If you’re using a slide deck as part of your presentation, remember that less is more. Make sure the text elements are short and large enough to read from the back of the room. Consider making key words or quotes stand out through a font or color change. Use images that evoke emotion or tie to that portion of the talk. Most important: Know that your audience can’t give full attention to your speech if your slides are a distraction. Using simple and clean design elements can enhance your presentation rather than be a distraction from it.
