  • Third Best Brief - Gabrielli National Moot Court Competition

    Albany Law School Moot Court Board

    The Gabrielli Family Law Moot Court Competition is a national event composed of 24 teams. Each team consist of two or three competitors who are currently enrolled in law school. The Competition involves both written and oral advocacy skills, which are judged by prominent members of the local bar, state and federal judges, and Albany Law School professors. Awards are presented to the Gabrielli champions, finalists, and semi-finalists, as well as the top three individual oral advocates and to…

    The Gabrielli Family Law Moot Court Competition is a national event composed of 24 teams. Each team consist of two or three competitors who are currently enrolled in law school. The Competition involves both written and oral advocacy skills, which are judged by prominent members of the local bar, state and federal judges, and Albany Law School professors. Awards are presented to the Gabrielli champions, finalists, and semi-finalists, as well as the top three individual oral advocates and to the teams with the top three briefs.

    The Gressman Competition is an intra-school appellate advocacy competition offered each spring. Second and third year students participate in teams of two. Each team must write a brief and argue one compulsory round. After the compulsory round, the top 32 teams compete in single elimination rounds until one team wins.   • Best Brief - Appellate Advocacy

    Seton Hall Appellate Advocacy Professor

    At the start of the semester students are given a fact pattern. They are required to write a brief and argue their position before a panel of Judges. The appellate advocacy professors select the best brief author for the Appellant and Appellee in his/her class.
