What are the most important trends in administrative management for improving communication?
My administrative manager role involves working with volunteers between 18 and 80, so the diversity I most need to keep in mind is diversity of contact styles. I need to track who needs a phone call, who will respond to email and who won't, what length of message they'll read on text. I need to be both patient, because they might not read messages until evening, and a little naggy on those matters that I actually need a response for, combining phone, text, and email. So the thing I focus on is making sure I have a variety of ways I reach out.

What are some effective strategies to proofread your own writing?
A fun way to make sure you've included key phrases and haven't overused garbage words (really, very, just, etc.) is to use a word cloud generator, like this: https://www.freewordcloudgenerator.com/ Copy and paste your text into the generator. Words that you use more frequently appear larger, while less frequent words are smaller. This can be an interesting visual guide to your word use. If you can download it, it can also make a fun visual to include on a website or on social media :-)

I have worked in children's ministries for over 25 years, running and expanding the programs at two churches. This means not only the fun part (working with the children), but also the more challenging parts (recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers; maintaining child safety records; organizing materials; writing curriculum).

I wrote two successful grant applications and directed both year-long projects. The first grant meant scheduling and chairing regular meetings for book study, as well as communicating with the grantor and with the congregation about the work of grant. The second grant involved planning two congregation-wide events, as well as communicating with the grantor and with the congregation.
