Learning personally and professionally are important but within the workplace, it's imperative you tie it to business, team, or department goals so you can measure the impact of the learning. Great leaders are able to plan out what will be needed in coming quarters and work with their direct reports on ways to ensure the team is prepared ahead of time by upskilling and being proactive in learning plans rather than reactive. Also make sure to build in check-ins on the learning project with the team. Updates keep everyone on the same page.

It's important to already have a few examples of problems you have solved in the past so you can know which example to share for which company. This means you have to think of the most applicable example for that company's business. While the STAR method always rocks (situation, task, action, result) make sure to use metrics and data when you can. Also use language that allows the interviewer to see you solving the problem. Practice your storytelling with colleagues, friends, loved ones so you aren't rambling but telling a good story.
