The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in managing company’s financial status, and assisting with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for full general ledger accounting
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
Maintain and record fixed assets
Preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain & keep highly confidential information secure
Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to management’s attention
Maintain company accounting procedures and processes
Assist with audits, taxes and property tax returns
Prepare financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders
Prepare and file local compliance reporting as necessary including state licensing/corporation renewals
Prepare and file sales taxes for multiple states and localities
Other duties and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
Required 4+ years of first-hand accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
High Level working proficiency with accounting software
You must have exceptional hands on knowledge of accounting
Mandatory to have and maintain advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
Able to analyze financial records and interpret
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent research and problem-solving skills
Must be highly resourceful
Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
