POSITION SUMMARY:The Assistant Finance Director is responsible for assisting the Finance Director in managing, directing, and supervising the activities of the Finance Department and for performing highly complex professional-level accounting analysis. This position will provide input to policy development/revision activities and is expected to explain/interpret policy to other employees in the Finance Department and to employees in various City departments. They will be involved with the planning, development, implementation, operation, and coordination of the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system'sintegration with Financial and Human Resource modules; data interfaces from various City Department information systems; personal computer (PC) applications; and communications within the Finance Department. This individual is also instrumental in the development of the annual budget and capital improvement program. This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance.

CLOSING DATE: Until Filled

WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm: Some After Hours Are Required.

WORK LOCATION:City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.

Minimum Required Experience, Education, And Training

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field is required.

  • Four (4) years of experiencein Accounting, Finance, or related field may be substituted as determined of the Department Director.

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or finance experience is required.

Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a professional accounting or finance is required.

Preferred Experience, Education, And Training

A Certificate in Public Accounting is preferred.

A Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or closely related field is preferred.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Experience working in municipal government is preferred.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City leadership in achieving those goals.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Word and Excel.

Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.

Must possess no felony convictions and have no serious misdemeanor convictions.

Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Must possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational andproject management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.

Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.

Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.

Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
