The Purpose of Your Role

The Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor works with the leadership team to oversee programming, and operations, ensuring all BHT’s function safely, effectively, and efficiently by promoting the best quality standards. They supervise BHT’s in scheduling, task completion, communication, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and time and priority management. BHT Supervisors collaborate with the Clinical Director to ensure maintenance of treatment fidelity, company policy, procedures and client satisfaction are being met according to OAC standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve a 4.5 or higher on each Facility Survey
  • Zero documentation errors on a weekly basis (overall team)
  • Achieve a minimum ALOS of 52 Days
  • Achieve <100 unused treatment days
  • Maintain payroll within the approved budget
  • Reduce early discharges by a minimum of 10% and ALOS of a minimum of 52 days by ensuring treatment satisfaction
  • All BHT’s Average Facility Tour Quality Audit Score 90%
  • Live the OAC values by being an example of positivity, optimism, growth, and change within your community of peers (as evidenced by the staff evaluation audit).
  • 4-5 hours per day of active facilitation, support, and observation on the treatment floor (evidenced by scheduling outcomes)

  • Please note: When you achieve any of the above key indicators your supervisor will counsel with you to set a new goal.

    Competencies

    • Demonstrate all competencies of BHT level 1 and 2
    • Demonstrate ability to identify which training topics need to be given for the BHT’s continual improvement
    • Demonstrate ability to hold live trainings through Google chat rooms and answer BHT’s questions effectively
    • Demonstrate ability to train on proper implementation of Exposure, DBT, and SGG groups and ensure that all new BHT’s pass on all competencies for their position within 90 days
    • Demonstrate how to properly audit and perform competency evaluations on Exposure/skills, SSG, and DBT groups.
    • Demonstrate ability to train, coach, and mentor BHT’s for ongoing growth and development by consistent performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and staff appreciation
    • Demonstrate effectiveness as an Incident Commander
    • Demonstrate ability to Manage timecards, and time off requests, and be able to keep staff accountable for their attendance
    • Demonstrate ability to have an overview of the needs of the clients and staff at all times
    • Demonstrate how to properly exit clinical employees
    • Demonstrate understanding of basic functions of other departments and positions
    • Demonstrate ability to make adjustments to the BHT schedule when needed and train BHT level 2’s how to create the BHT schedule


    Responsibilities:

    • Manages BHT workflow, timecards, time off requests, development plans, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and other administrative tasks
    • Expands knowledge and skills through supervision and oversight provided by appropriate licensed clinical staff
    • Manages auditing and training on the floor to ensure clinical fidelity is upheld
    • Monitors productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching in verbal and written form
    • Completes all Train the Trainer coaching and responsibilities
    • Implements leadership-directed changes with positivity and thoughtfulness
    • Assumes incident commander role as needed
    • Maintains a reconcilable company credit card per company protocols
    • Providers high standards of helpful, professional, and caring treatment to all clients by maintaining consistent effective client interactions
    • Takes an active role in supporting and meddling OAC business processes that are current and in development while supporting and cultivating a positive culture on their team
    • Actively monitors, engages, and provides validation to a wide variety of clients ages in a warm, safe environment, and keeps clients motivated to work through neutralizing behaviors and distress
    • Facilitates groups within the IOP and helps maintain a professional environment for clients, including collecting homework, and clinical documentation, and providing feedback to primary therapists
    • Plans, organizes, and implements lesson plans for group settings and maintains all written documentation
    • Conducts or assists with staff and client activities
    • Identifies patterns of issues with client interactions, employee interactions, and business resources
    • Master de-escalation techniques, crisis planning, and safety management
    • Adheres to all company policies and procedures


    The Skills and Expertise You Have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of experience in a related field
    • 2+ years of management experience
    • Proficient knowledge of computers, including Google Docs, sheets, and other computer software
    • Accurate and efficient electronic data entry
    • Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
    • Organized, detail-oriented, takes initiative, and completes job responsibilities independently
    • Ability to multitask and problem-solve. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication
    • Thrives in a changing work environment including inside, outside, and nose level
    • Professional presentation, team-oriented, and flexibility with management style


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
    • OCD, anxiety, trauma experience
