Counterintelligence Specialist
Duties
This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, Insider Threat and Counterintelligence Services Division (ITCSD), located in Washington, DC. This position is non-reimbursable and will be used to staff an intelligence specialist position within the Counterintelligence Services Branch. This is a one-year non-reimbursable position with the option to extend an additional year.

- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
Qualifications required:
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, counterintelligence priorities and information to both cleared and uncleared personnel. Able to express counterintelligence concepts and threats to a variety of audiences to ensure threats are identified and mitigation measures are well-considered and logically sound.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute counterintelligence support activities to include briefings, debriefings, and writing of counterintelligence assessments. Must be able to accomplish mission requirements in a timely manner.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and represent the branch in briefings with both internal and external senior stakeholders to inform them of the progress of important initiatives to ensure the success of OI's counterintelligence priority objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA:
- Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA.
- Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include:
- Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.
- Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA.
- Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
