Description

Position Purpose:

The Walk-in Clinician is considered a Mental Health Professional per the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse in the State of Pennsylvania. The Crisis Walk-in Clinician provides direct service and assessment to the serious and persistent mentally ill adults who have a co-occurring drug or alcohol diagnosis. Service provision consists of assessing the immediate needs of persons walking into the Crisis Walk-in Center and providing immediate linkage to community service providers as deemed applicable.

What You Will Do

  • Provides direct service as necessary.
  • Recognize potential crisis and respond to or intervene in crisis situations within the guidelines of Organizational Policy and Procedure using approved CPI techniques.
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize when a consumer requires medical, psychiatric, or other services and takes appropriate action.
  • Integrate the consumer into the community and ongoing assessment and management of crisis situations using all appropriate resources.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external committees, task forces, treatment team meetings, planning and work groups and meetings as required and requested.
  • Responds to all internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and 5-years direct care experience OR Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience
  • Valid Driver’s License required and ability to drive an organization vehicle
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Act 33/34/73 clearances
  • Access to Transportation

Schedule: This is a Non-Exempt (hourly) position

  • Sunday - Thursday: 12am- 8am (shift ends Friday at 8am)
  • OFF Friday and Saturday
