Role

Assists Office of Student Life in areas of Spiritual Life, Student Conduct, and Commuter Life.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Life
  • Oversee Student Spiritual Life Director and Spiritual Life Team.
  • Organize Midweek Small Group offerings and leadership.
  • Assist with Spiritual Life programs and initiatives as directed by the Vice President for Spiritual Life and University Affairs.
  • Student Conduct
  • Respond to Community Life violations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with appropriate college personnel in disciplinary cases.
  • Manage restorative discipline process.
  • Residential Life
  • Provide regular check-ins with (male) resident directors, including monthly 1-on-1s and follow up on conduct issues.
  • Oversee personal and team discipleship opportunities and resources for residence life team.
  • Commuter Life
  • Develop and implement programs to serve and support commuting students.
  • Coordinate care and support for students in crisis.
  • Coordinate retention efforts with commuting students who may be at risk due to academic, financial and/or social challenges.
  • Maintain commuter lounge area(s).
  • Oversee Commuter Life budget.
  • Hire, train, and supervise Commuter Assistants.

Role Expectations

  • Maintain regular office hours.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to supervisors as requested.
  • Attend weekly Student Life staff meetings.
  • Attend chapel regularly and other spiritual life and campus events as possible.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the VP for Student Development and Success and VP for Spiritual Life and University Affairs.

Additional Functions

  • To develop and maintain a strong rapport with students and college employees.
  • To maintain organized, accurate and confidential records.
  • To respond to tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
  • To serve as a committed Christian role model and to disciple students on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Experience Minimum of five years of similar or related experience.

Education Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Christian Commitment A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
