POSITION TITLE: East Aurora Junior Tomcats Assistant Soccer Coach

BUILDING(S): To be determined

CLASSIFICATION: Per diem

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Monday-Thursday: Session 1, June 6-30 and

Session 2, July 5-28

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head Soccer Coach, Athletic Director, principal, or

Designee

SALARY: $23.00/hour

START DATE: June 6, 2023

Qualifications

• NFHS/IHSA/IESA coaching certifications required.
• 2 years successful coaching experience required.
• General knowledge of age-appropriate coaching techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of NFHS/IHSA/IESA rules.
• Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  
  

Summary

Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in the sport of

soccer. Conduct practices, organize schedules, and work in unison with other coaches to

provide a positive experience for students.

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach to organize and instruct students in the rules, regulations,
  
  

equipment. and techniques of the sport.

• Assist Head Coach to organize practices, strategies, and skill development in
  
  

accordance with high school program and philosophy.

• Organize and direct coaching staff and players.
• Assist the head coach to assess player’s skills and design developmentally
  
  

appropriate practices and instruction to best improve player’s abilities.

• Assist in the management of program and safety and well-being of students and
  
  

coaches.

• Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all
  
  

phases of athletic participation.

• Serve as a positive representative of East Aurora School District 131 across the
  
  

local, regional, and statewide school and sports communities.

• Other duties as assigned by the Head Soccer Coach, Athletic Director, Principal,
  
  

or Designee.
