To work as an Electrical Foreman in construction, you'll need a High School Diploma or GED certificate. You also need experience working as an electrician, which involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems. This could be as an apprentice or journeyman electrician, or working in a related field such as HVAC or construction. You'll need to be familiar with wiring diagrams, blueprints, and building codes as well. A Foreman also needs good communication skills to direct teams of workers and work with project managers. It's important to have an eye for detail and to prioritize safety on the job site. Continuing education in electrical systems and management is helpful to advance your career.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing and coordinating the work of electrical crew
- Maintaining project schedules and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget
- Interpreting blueprints, designs, and specifications to ensure that electrical systems are installed according to plan
- Communicating with other teams and project managers to ensure that electrical work is coordinated with other trades
- Interviewing and training electrical technicians and apprentices
- Ensuring that electrical work meets all safety regulations and codes
- Ordering and maintaining an inventory of electrical supplies and equipment
- Inspecting work for quality and ensuring that all work meets customer expectations
- Troubleshooting problems with electrical systems and equipment
- Keeping accurate records of work done and materials used for billing and reference.
