Wilkes University invites applicants for a 12-month Faculty of Practice position in the Undergraduate Education Department in the College of Health and Education beginning in August 2024. The Faculty of Practice role focuses on teaching, advising, and service. Scholarship in this role is not required but encouraged.

The School of Education provides opportunities for students to grow academically and professionally. The program promotes an appreciation for diversity, child development, as well as a regard for research-based and innovative practices. The ethics of service and dedication are expected of Teacher Education students to meet the unique needs of all students within the learning community.

The successful candidate is responsible for instruction of education coursework in face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the continued development of the Masters of Science in Special Education program. Candidates with experience in the following areas will be considered: PK-4, Middle Level Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, PK-12 Administration or any related field.

A master's degree or higher in education with a minimum of three years experience teaching in PK-12 public or private education organizations is required. Higher education online or face to face teaching experience is preferred. Additional skills needed include successful collaboration with others and effective and inclusive communication skills. Experience in online course development and online teaching is preferred. The position requires an on-campus teaching and advising presence throughout the fall and spring semesters.
